MEDIA STATEMENT
In response to the recent calling for a government decision of TOTAL SHUTDOWN as to flatten the curve and Covid19 infection rate.
It is our view that such total lock down will heavily affect the bottled water industry which had been hit hard by cancellation of events, mobility of people, sports event, and others activity that contribute to the demand of bottled water. After the MCO 1.0 and MCO 2.0, many of our members have experienced slow down of demand, eventually resulted in workers layoff, shutting down non critical production areas and scale back some of the investment.
Instead, we would strongly suggest that stringent compliance of SOP for all industries and increase the capacity of the vaccination process nationwide will be a better option for finding balance between saving lives and economic. Further, we would support government movement in allowing private company to purchase vaccine for their employees so that industry also can play a role in helping government to curb the spread of the virus.
Let us all play our role in helping the frontlines who sacrifice their love one and their life for us. Let us make their sacrifice worth it. Let us ease the pressure on our hospitals. Please lend our hand to those who need helps.
Stay Safe.
